JGU Podcasts and Multimedia Links

 JGU has started archiving a lot of activities that happen on the campus and also recording conversations etc. as podcasts. These are done by the university and also by student-led endeavours. Below is a list of resources that will be of interest to students.

JSIA PODCAST - A student- driven initiative to explore the world of global affairs and provide insights into the experiences of students, facilities and scholars of the field to help in getting exposure for the interested community.

JGU Live Stream - An archive of videos recorded by JGU where for example, you will find a discussion on Kuki Nationalism and Political Aspiration which was event organised by one of the Research Centres of JSIA, Nehginpao Kipgen Center for Southeast Asian Studies (NKCSEAS) which was founded by our late dear Professor Dr. Nehginpao Kipgen. 

JSIA YouTube Channel - Various guest lectures hosted by JSIA specifically are  archived here.

YouTube Channel of Dean Sreeram Chaulia - Professor Sreeram Chaulia archives his presentations in various fora here.

JGU YouTube Channel - This archives a huge number of videos which cover the full range of activities carried out at the university.

Indian Expertise on China

Based on a thought provoking tweet by a colleague Dr. Rajiv Ranjan, Assistant Professor at ShanghaiUniversity and Adjunct Fellow at the Institute for Chinese Studies, New Delhi, I am highlighting the various scholars from India who have expertise on China. When it comes to the people and places in India where Chinese studies is done, a few places like Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) and Delhi University (DU) stand out due to their prominent location in New Delhi. JNU, my alma mater, has expertise in two schools - the School of Language Studies where Chinese is taught at the Undergraduate level and the School of International Studies, which hosts the Centre for East Asian Studies  and offers M.Phil and Ph.D programs. I have been privileged to be taught by Professor Alka Acharya  who also headed the Institute for Chinese Studies which is the pre-eminent Think Tank on Chinese studies in India.
